Dr. Godawa was born and raised in Coloma, Michigan, graduating from Coloma High School.
She went on to attend Valparaiso University, where she competed on the women’s Division I
volleyball team. After having the opportunity to work under Dr. Erickson during a summer
break, she confirmed her passion for the profession of dentistry. She received a Bachelor of
Science in Biology from Valparaiso, and was accepted into the University of Michigan School of
Upon graduation from Michigan, she aspired to return home with an interest to aid those in
underserved communities. With that in mind, Dr. Godawa began her career at the Van Buren
and Cass District Health Department. Always with a desire to learn and develop her skills, she
has returned to work with Dr. Erickson at Modern Dentistry and is committed to advancing her
studies at the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies (LVI).
Outside of the office, Dr. Godawa enjoys spending time with her family: husband, Steve, son, Brooks, and daughter, Avery. They spend their time together being active, exercising, and enjoying all the
outdoor attractions Southwest Michigan has to offer.
